Talk about overwrought.
Woof.

WUUT. Those are fucking RAD!!! Vast amounts of WANT! The one i’d get is pretty much in this trim. Hellz yeah!!!
I see this and my inner ninja samuri come out

Which is funny because I’d say the smaller NX looks surprisingly good in person.

Just needs more sidewall.

these are horrible. horrendous. And they have that ipad/laptop glued to the dashboard.
Dealer offered it to me as a loaner. I said it may drive itself off a cliff. He gave me a different model.

Indeed. They finally made the car itself bearable enough that I might *almost* be tempted by one over a GLE or X5, and then they went and made it look like someone trying to make an origami replica of a Nissan Murano. It is an odious thing to behold.

I think the Texas heat has boiled your brain!
Way too many angles.

Agreed.

origami replica of a Nissan Murano
That’s about the most perfect description I can imagine.

The NX looks great in person. Photos don’t truly show how long those LED strips are.

...and a new body.

Swoopy, sporty, aggressive details...
Then let’s lift it 8"
I will never understand this segment.

How can the people at Starbucks know that we live at the very limit of our means if I can’t look them straight in the eye when I get my triple-venti soy mochaccino frappe??
![]() 01/03/2017 at 10:46 |

Too much front overhang, wheel well gap, wheel diameter too big, door sills are too high, and I hate the grille. Fix that, and I’d be ok with the floating roofline. yuk

Is that Frankie MacDonald?

Yuuuge front overhang, cliched faux floating C-pillar, Stepfordian or oblivious (or both) driver, what’s not to love?
And a little bit of A-pillar DLO fail just because.

Me gusta!!! Those look so epic!
But, literally THE opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to quality ratings lol

Dunno, Google.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 10:51 |

Yeah. They sound incredible, too. There is one just like this in my neighborhood.

Definitely needs the F-Sport, or it looks like a tarted up RAV4 (sponsored by Nike).

Yes it’s a fat otaku in an samurai suit with an awful sense of balance and misplaced priorities.

I can see a whole heap of them out my window since there is a LR/Jag dealer right there. The noises they make are nice as well.

The worst part about it is that the lifted wagonoids have become so common that many places are now building booths/kiosks so high up that you can’t get to them from a normal car. I can’t reach the touch screen at my bank’s new drive-through ATM or the prox car reader on the gate at work unless I’m in a crossover/truck.

robots doe...

Meh. I absolutely love them. One of the my favorite crossovers to look at. Looks especially good in the brown and red colors Lexus offers.

lifted wagonoids.....
my new favorite thing to say :]

Lexus employee: People call our cars bland, should we improve the styling?
Other Lexus employee: Improve it? No, we just need to add more styling.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 11:06 |

Haha let’s make it the new phase! Seriously though I don’t know what else to call some of these things... the C & D pillars don’t quite meet at the top like a traditional hatchback, but the roofs are so sloped and the rear side windows so cartoonishly small that they aren’t really wagons either.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 11:12 |

Boring >>>> Ugly

My condolences for your lack of Jalopness.
I guess i’ll have to hoon all the things! myself :]

It seems all toyotas these days are overwrought
![]() 01/03/2017 at 12:28 |

Look at that fuckin front overhang. Shit is unacceptable. Is there a v12 under that hood? Or even a V8? Nope. That underbite, lines that start and end no where, it’s all a mess.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 12:34 |
|
I dont like it. Too many chiseled features make it feel like the extra surface area is only there to serve as a template for more chisels. Just no.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 12:47 |

I still can’t fathom how Lexus went from the most conservative car company in the world to one of the boldest overnight. I can’t imagine how many loyal multi-generation RX owners were lost due to the new styling.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 12:48 |

It is entertaining to see old grandmas puttering around in something this bold, though.
![]() 01/03/2017 at 13:18 |

Didn’t they just come out? Or are you referring to the GLE Coupe?
![]() 01/03/2017 at 13:21 |

Wow that is probably the most perfect analogy.

For every 1 grandma you see with one, there’s 9 more that just couldn’t do it.
